

He was born May 16, 1941 in Cromwell, CT, the son of Merritt Holt and Annie Goodridge Holt.
Dick married Ernestine “Tina” Bailey on April 5, 1963 in Skowhegan, Maine.
He worked for Solon manufacturing as a machinist for many years. Dick was also a past selectman and past tax assessor for the Town of Norridgewock.
He was a 50 year member and past master of the E. Madison Grange and a past master of the Mason’s in Norridgewock.
Dick loved to bowl, play BINGO, and most of all he loved his grandchildren, enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and liked going out to eat.
Besides his wife Tina of 52 years of Norridgewock, he leaves his son Richard Allen Holt of Norridgewock, his daughter, Kimberly Foster and her husband David of Norridgewock; two grandsons, David Jr. and Caleb Foster both of Norridgewock; his two sisters, Lauraine Manter and her husband William of FL, Elaine Wallace and her husband Gary of Skowhegan; his brother, Robert Holt and his wife Irmalene of Skowhegan; one sister-in-law, Clara Richardson and her husband Dan of Skowhegan; his brother-in-law, Ernest Bailey Jr. and his wife Wanda of Skowhegan; several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his best friend, David Frederick and his wife Brenda of Norridgewock and his beloved dog “Missy”.
He was predeceased by his parents, his mother and father-in-law Ernest Sr. and Elsie Bailey, one brother, Amos Holt and his wife Maxine, sister-in-law Brenda Bailey and a nephew Steven Holt.
The family would like to thank the staff on the oncology unit and hospice for the loving care Dick received during his illness. And a special thank you to David and Brenda for always being supportive to Dick and Tina and to Betty and Danielle Turcotte for their loving support.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday May 3, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine. A funeral service will be held on Monday May 4, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Evangelical Free Church, McClellan St., Skowhegan, Maine, with Pastor Richard Berry officiating, a burial to follow at the Sunsetview Cemetery in Norridgewock, Maine.
In order to offset the costs of the funeral the family would like donations made to Dick’s wife Tina, Ernestine Holt, 614 Mercer Rd., Norridgewock, Maine 04957 or donations may be made in Dick’s memory to the Oncology Unit at Redington Fairview General Hospital, Attn: Sue Forbus, PO Box 468, Skowhegan, Maine 04976 or to the HealthReach Hospice, Maine General Health, Office of Philanthropy, P.O.
