He was born May 4, 1974 in Skowhegan, Maine, the son of George and Gail (Cowette) Lake of Wellington, Maine.
He attended P.C.H.S. where he played in the high school band, as well as receiving his CDL license while in high school. He attended KVTC in Fairfield, receiving his welding certificate and boilers propane license.
He married the love of his life Amy Bagley and they had two beautiful children, Monica Raye Lake and Coty Lewis Lake.
Steven was a hard worker and always worked to provide a good life for his family. His first job was working for Davis and Glidden of Guilford; he also worked for Linkletter and Sons in Athens. He worked as a truck driver for Morrison’s Logging for several years. He also worked as a boiler installer for Webber Oil Company. During the time that he was working at Webber Oil he went to school and got his oil burner and gas license. This gave him the opportunity to start his own business, Lake Family Heating in Harmony.
Every year in the spring he would go to Spencer Bay on Moosehead Lake in Greenville with his father and uncles, later his mom and sister joined them on their trip. This continued for many years even after he had his own family. He enjoyed going to the family camp on Kingsbury Pond and spending summers there. Steven loved waterskiing, swimming and boating. He spent summers taking his kids for rides in the boat and teaching them how to water ski. He would always have a new water toy that they could play on. There was always a cook out at his camp that everyone was invited to. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and traveling with his family. He took a trip to Mexico with his son and talked often of the fun that they had. Then the following year he took his daughter Monica to Jamaica. He wanted his children to be able to do whatever they wanted to do in life. His life was lived by doing things with his wife and children. They all went on trips to Rainbow lake and enjoyed those times as a family.
He also loved taking his family and dogs for rides in the jeep or the boat picking up an ice cream. One of his favorite things was to take his jeep and go places that most people would take a four wheeler. He would love to take his family and anyone that wanted to go to see if he could get the jeep stuck. Him and his family would take their bicycles and ride from camp. He wanted to spend time with his kids and do things with them. He loved his children very much and missed them terribly.
