Aloysius Moylan, age 90, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2024, surrounded with love with his family by his side in his last hours and days. Aloysius (Al) was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, parents Aloysius and Isabel (Mills) Moylan of Olyphant, PA., older brothers Jack Moylan of Olyphant, PA, and Leo Moylan of Gloucester, VA. Al is survived by sons Shawn Moylan, Kevin Moylan, Patrick Moylan of Everett, WA, and daughter Erin Farmer of South Hutchinson, KS.
Al was born in Olyphant, PA on September 11, 1933 at his family home. He grew up in Olyphant until age 9 and then moved to Philadelphia, PA and lived there until age 17 when he joined the United States Navy. Al served our country with distinction and honor for 35 years and travelled around the world before settling down and marrying his wife Patricia Moylan.
Al married Patricia (Pat) on May 9, 1958 in Reno, NV and his navy career took him, Patricia, and their four children around the U.S with duty stations in Sanford, FL, Patuxent River, MD, Whidbey Island, WA, Kingsville, TX, Pensacola, FL, and Virginia Beach, VA. Al and Pat enjoyed over 64 years of marriage and happiness before she passed in April of 2022.
After retirement from the Navy, Al and Pat settled in several places during in that time including Pensacola FL, Hutchinson Ks, and then finally settling in Snohomish, WA for the last 20 years. Al and Pat enjoyed their twilight years living in Snohomish and both found new friends as well as finding a church they both loved at St Michael Catholic church. Al had a quick wit and great sense of humor and really enjoyed watching old movies on the TCM channel and was a big fan of watching college and NFL football from September through February.
Al and Pat both enjoyed raising a big family with their four children, and spending time with their seven grandchildren (Kimberly, Myles, Jarred, Brendan, Kyle, Amanda, and Peyton), and five great grandchildren (Steven, Keegan, Kal, Ethan, and Jack).
There will be a memorial service at St Michael Catholic church, Snohomish, WA., at 11am on March 15 and a viewing the same day at Bauer Funeral Chapel, 701 First St, Snohomish, from 1pm to 5pm. A burial service with full military honors will be held at Mt Tahoma National cemetery, Kent, WA at 12:30pm on March 20, 2024.
