Audrey Wenonah Bueler, 93, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015. Audrey was born in Arlington on August 14, 1921 to Earl and Letta Childs. She graduated from Everett High School and lived her adult life in Snohomish. She and Tony were married July 26, 1941. During their 63 years together, they raised six daughters and built their home, doing most of the work themselves.
Audrey kept busy taking care of her home and family, and also helped with the bookkeeping for Tony’s oil delivery business. She was a talented seamstress and made most of her girls’ clothing. She had a flair for home décor and her house was full of antiques and interesting collections, and was beautifully decorated for every holiday. She enjoyed crafts such as stained glass, tole painting, and quilting.
After her children were in school, Audrey worked for many years at Harmon’s Department Store in Snohomish. She loved music and playing piano and spent many years singing in the choir at St. Michael’s Catholic Church and with Sweet Adelines.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tony; grandson Ian Dahlager; sister, Viola Dixon and brother, Burnett Childs. She leaves her daughters, Becky (Mike) Dahlager of Spokane, Kathy McEachern of Lake Stevens, Cindy (Ty) Tobias of Anchorage, AK, Julie (Rick) Romanick of Snohomish, Heidi (Bob) Dalton of Monroe, and Holly (Greg) McDonald of Mill Creek, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
We are very grateful to the staff at the Garden House of Brookdale of Monroe (formerly Merrill Gardens) for the wonderful loving care our mom received during the last two years of her life.
A memorial services will be held at Bauer Funeral Chapel in Snohomish on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to Providence Hospice of Snohomish County to whom we are also grateful for their care and compassion.
