

Born to Roy and Mabel Britton on November 7 1930 in Duluth MN and departed this world on January 28th 2014 in Colville WA
Don’s family moved to Snohomish WA in 1938. He attended Snohomish Schools and was senior class and FFA President. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War and when he returned, Don and his twin brother Dan started Britton Brothers Auction in 1955. It was a fixture in Snohomish for 35 years.
Don married Roberta Green on July 29 1955. They raised and are survived by 7 children: Donna (Allen) Stevens, Kellie (Scott) Fetterly, Jeanette (Dan) Thompson, Kathy (Carl) Walsh, Dwain (Kathy) Britton, Linda (Dave) Monzel, and Tresa (Darren) Bredeson. Grandchildren: Jesse (Shannon) Stevens, Erica Monzel, Kyle Stevens, Shaya (James) Honcoop, Sarah Monzel, Kacey Walsh, Andrew Walsh,Crystal Thompson, Adam Thompson and great grand daughter Emma Honcoop. Sister Judy Guzman and his dog Rex.
Preceding him to heaven: his wife forever, Roberta, grandson Shem Hendrickson, 7 brothers and his parents.
Besides running the Auction, Don was elected to Snohomish School Board in 1974 and then, with the goal of helping the Snohomish County farming community, was elected to 3 terms as County Commissioner—Councilman. He always believed that a strong farming base is essential to the county and the nation.
In 1990. Don and Roberta “retired” to Colville WA to raise Beef Cattle. Don managed and worked his farm until this past November and made sure that we had instructions for us to follow in his absence. He always made sure the chores were done.
Viewing at Bauer Funeral chapel in Snohomish_0900-1000 Thursday February 6_ followed by a family graveside service at Cypress Lawn Cemetery Everett WA. Memorial Service at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Swans Trail—Snohomish WA at 1 pm with reception following.
