

Joseph (Joe) Michael Probst, a resident of Snohomish, WA, passed away peacefully at home with his wife Melissa Probst (Short) by his side on July 5, 2025, following a battle with cancer. Joe was 67 years old and was born on December 28, 1957, in Los Angeles, CA. Joe loved growing up in Southern California and recalled spending weekends at the beach or in the mountains. He was the son of the late Charles Joseph Probst and Evelyn Hull Probst. Joe graduated from San Gabriel High School in San Gabriel, CA, in 1975 and proudly served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S Army from 1976-1979. He served as a Heavy Equipment Operator and achieved the rank of Sergeant. After leaving the Army, he went to work at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Joe spent 20 years working there before he and his family relocated to Washington State.
Joe is the youngest of seven children. He is predeceased by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his wife Melissa, sons Michael and his wife Chantee, Scott and his wife Erika, and three grandchildren, Everly, Kamdyn, and Macklen Probst, as well as three sisters, Jean Bauer of Beamont, CA, Teresa Keebaugh of Fontana, CA, and Lucinda Montgomery of Fullerton, CA, and numerous loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Joe loved the outdoors enjoying camping and boating and managing their 5 Acres in Snohomish. He will be remembered for his strong opinions and great sense of humor. Joe enjoyed a well-earned retirement with his beloved wife following decades of hard work. He will be so very missed by many families and friends.
