Katerina Panayiotou

Born in Greece, Katerina was a proud and strong-willed Greek woman who carried the traditions of her homeland wherever she went. Known for her sharp wit, passionate spirit, and unwavering opinions, she lived life her way—and those who loved her wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. A gifted cook and entrepreneur, Katerina shared her culture and love of food through her authentic Greek restaurant and popular Gyro Stand, which brought the flavors of Greece to festivals and fairs across the Northwest. Her food didn’t just nourish; it connected people and created lasting memories.

She is survived by her three devoted children, her beloved sister, twelve beautiful grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many cherished nieces and nephews and friends. She is met in heaven by her parents, her brother, her lifelong best friend, and her beloved pets who made the journey before her. Katerina’s legacy lives on in every shared recipe, every loud laugh, every summer breeze, and every warm embrace.

Her strength, her love, and her light will never be forgotten.
