She is survived by her husband, Jon; her daughter Miriah (Daniel); step-children Kim, Jon Jr. (Loretta), Lori, Jody, Sjon (Sherry), and Jason; granddaughters Madison, Mia, Emersyn, and 15 step-grandchildren; her father Clyde; siblings Penni (Terry), Patti, and Clifford (Bonnie); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Barbara.
Pam spent her childhood moving across the country for her father’s military career and their times in Hawaii always held a special place in her heart. They settled in Redmond, WA. She left Washington, hitchhiking her way to California and back ending up in Gold Bar, WA, where she met her future husband. She married Jon Hornback on December 10, 1978, in
Monroe, WA, and they settled in Snohomish, where she lived until her death. She worked as a waitress, a nurse, and finished her career spending over 20 years with the Tulalip Tribes.
Her happiest times were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved crafting, cooking, and spending time at Gold Bar Nature Trails, or at the ocean. Pam was always game for an adventure including roller coasters in Disneyland, or zip lining in Mexico. She was a fierce feminist who believed in taking care of the people who surrounded her, and the planet we occupy. Those who loved her dearly will miss her deeply.
Safely Home
I am home in heaven, dear ones; All’s so happy all’s so bright!! There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light. All the pain and grief are over, every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, safely at home in heaven at last. Did you wonder why I so calmly Trod the valley of the shade? Oh! but Jesus’ love brightened Every dark and fearful glade! And He came Himself to meet me on the way so hard to tread; And with Jesus’ arm to lean on, Could I have one doubt or dread? Then you must not grieve so sorely, For I love you dearly still: Try to look beyond earth’s shadows, pray to trust our Father’s will. There is work still waiting for you, so you must not idle stand; Do your work while life remaineth You shall rest in Jesus’ land. When that work is all completed, He will gently call you home; Oh, the rapture of that meeting Oh, the joy to see you come.
A celebration of life service for Pamela will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Bauer Funeral Chapel, Snohomish, Washington.
