His family moved to Snohomish, Washington in 1941. Bud graduated from Snohomish High School and married his high school sweetheart Mary Heike (1940-1985) in 1958. They raised three children together: Lance, Kelly and Vince.
Bud was involved in the service station business in Snohomish for 32 years, only further fueling his love for cars. He was a partner in Mack’s Towing, and for nearly 20 years, he owned and operated King’s Shell Service in Snohomish until he sold the family business to his sons in 1987.
While many remember him for greeting his customers with a smile and some sort of joke, we know him as the only guy who can change the oil in six cars in a row without getting a single drop of oil or speck of dirt on him.
Bud married Eleanor (Hembd) Goebel in 1993, and spent his retirement golfing with friends, playing cards with family and traveling with his wife–often in an RV packed with their grandkids.
He is survived by his loving wife Eleanor; three children, Lance (Joy), Kelly and Vince (Elena); grandchildren: Ben (Annie) McIntosh, Anah (Jordan) Sanchez, Lauren (Trevor) Boone, Luke McIntosh, Kaylee (Calvin) Chunn, Bradley McIntosh and Sam Frost; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters Margaret Burns, Marlene Elemendorf and Margil Crowley.
He is preceded in death by his parents William “Jack” McIntosh and Verna Gabriel; wife Mary McIntosh; grandson Jordan McIntosh; and siblings Don McIntosh, Joseph McIntosh, Marilyn Curlee and Larry McIntosh.
Please join us for a celebration of life at noon on Saturday, February 19, at Helios Ballroom (213 Avenue D, Snohomish). In lieu of flowers, please donate to Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) in memory of Raymond (Bud) McIntosh.
