Bob Kelly went home to our Heavenly Father, surrounded by his family on June 17, 2012. God's grace continues to be immeasurable and was ever present during the years Bob battled his affliction with Alzheimer's disease.
Robert Allen Kelly was born January 3, 1931 in Rockledge, Pennsylvania to Steadman Stevens and Alberta Louise Kelly. His family relocated to Ryderwood, WA where Bob attended school, grades 1 through 12, graduating in 1949. While attending Western Washington College (University), Bob met and married the love of his life, Jeanne Lambert. In 1956, they moved to Snohomish, WA where Bob's work with West Coast Telephone spanned three decades. He retired from GTE in 1986 and worked for Boeing as a contractor, retiring in 1993.
Bob was instrumental in the start-up of the Snohomish Little League Baseball Association, serving as president, coach and umpire throughout the years. Always an avid sports enthusiast, he supported and assisted in student athletics, including coaching his children and grandchildren in various community sports.
Robert Allen Kelly instilled in his family's hearts the importance of faith in God, family values, service with integrity, and a sense of humor. He leaves his daughter, Linda Kelly (Henry) Groeneveld; daughter, Karen (Pat) Doherty; son, Steve (Donette) Kelly; grandson, Nate (Tiffany and Kalie) Kelly; grandson, Andy Kelly; and granddaughter, Abby (Kyle and Wesley) Drube.
A very endearing thank you to the caregivers and employees at Emeritus of Snohomish and Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County for their endless support and friendship.
Private family services will be held at G.A.R. Cemetery, Snohomish.
There is joy to come when we see the face of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
