Ron, age 81, passed away at his own home on June 29, 2015, after battling stage 4 lung cancer for 1-1/2 years without treatment. His honorable choice gave him a much better quality of life. He loved camping at North Fork, at Clearwater in Idaho, fishing, playing cribbage, and watching Seahawks, Mariners and golf. Dad was born in Orofino, Idaho, on June 25, 1934, to Andy and Ruby Sullivan (Simmons). Dad grew up in Weippe, Idaho, and also in Clarkston, Wash. A 1952 graduate, he excelled in many sports at Clarkston High School, and participated in the Bantam teams of football, baseball, basketball, wrestling, gymnastics, track, etc. He then attended Everett Junior College (where he met the love of his life, Barbara Hublou), attended one year at WSU (always a Cougar fan!), and EWC, earning both a BA in 1957 and a BA in Education in 1959. He was a PE teacher and coach at Centralia Community and Everett Community Colleges in football, basketball, baseball, gymnastics, track, golf, swimming, bowling and tennis. Dad and Mom married on August 25, 1956, and had six wonderful kids in seven years: Lori (Dave) Evans, Juli (Neal) Whitson, Steve Sullivan, Lisa (John) Dolan, Lynn (Todd) Fecht, Carolyn (Rob) Anderson, and also adopted an awesome son, Kevin (Kathline) Sullivan later in life. God is so good - ALL of Ron's kids and spouses were blessed to see him June 28, 2015, for a celebration of his birthday/father's day - he loved it! Dad is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and in-laws, Roland, Dee, Sharon, Betty, Charlotte and Paul. A special thank you to Dad's best friends, Bob and Char. Dad was preceded in death by Barb on August 2, 2009; and brothers, Jim (2014) and Danny (1995). We miss them all so much! You are all now in heaven together. A memorial service will be held at the Bauer Funeral Chapel in Snohomish, WA on Friday, July 10, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. Please join us at Dad's for a potluck after the service. Love and miss you, Dad!
