Mr. Daniel M. Patalino Jr.

Daniel M. Patalino, Jr., 68, of Lakeland, passed away Thursday May 5th at Community General Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he was a 1960 graduate of Solvay High School. He was owner and proprietor of Top Dog Associates and the former Danny’s Barber Shop. As an active member of his community, he was a Trustee for the Village of Solvay, an Aide to Assemblyman Ned Kinsella, past Town of Geddes Councilman, Supervisor, Highway Superintendant and current Town of Geddes Councilman and Republican Committee Chairman. He was a former lecture and teacher at St. Cecilia's Church, and member of the Solvay Tyrol Club, Lions Club and Solvay Fire Department. As an avid golfer, he was involved in many golf leagues, including the Worm Burners Golf Tournament. Danny was involved in numerous community fund raising activities for people in crisis.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, the former Vicky Retzos, a son; Patrick (Peggy) Patalino, of Bedford, 3 daughters; Pamela (Bobby) Angotti, of Liverpool, Sheri (Steve) Young, of Mooresville, NC and Athena (Tony) Lioto, of Solvay, 12 grandchildren; Brittany, Breanna and Ashley Lioto, Tyler, Adam and Shawn DeLattre, Steven and Landon Young, Isabelle, Kate, and Jack Patalino, and Lola Angotti, 1 great granddaughter; Giuliana Alcaras, 2 sisters; Carol (Robert) Bourg, of Rochester and Judy (Stephen) Winchell, of Solvay and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday May 9th at 9 am in St. Cecilia Church with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours are from 2 to 5 pm Sunday May 8th at St. Cecilia Church, 1001 Woods Rd., Solvay.
