James W. Merrihew

James W. Merrihew, 76, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday at Loretto Health & Rehabilitation Center. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was born in Burlington, VT to the late Ida (Dominy) Merrihew. He was a chef at the Holiday Inn for 25 years. He was also an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking. He was predeceased by his partner of 43 years, Robert Schadle; granddaughter Kelly Jo, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

He is survived by 3 daughters; Debbie Kane of Camillus, Brenda (Loren) Richardson of Pulaski and Pam Merrihew of Syracuse, 4 grandchildren; Crystal (Jason), Michael (Kristen), Stacey (Joe) and Lindsay Jo, 6 great grandchildren, sister Jane (Peter) Slifka of Florida, 2 special nieces; Lynne Galante and Darlene Peck, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
