Joan (Ungaro) Shibel, 81, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday at home. Born in Solvay, she resided in Camillus many years. She was a member of the ACBL Duplicate Bridge Organization, where she earned numerous masters points, and she was a former avid bowler. Joan had a great devotion for her family. She looked forward to holiday gatherings, spending time with family and friends, and get-together’s with her dinner bridge group.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frederick C. Shibel, Sr., 3 daughters; Susan (Harry) Horwitz, JoAnn (Leslie) Stone and Lynne (Thomas) Fisher, a son; Frederick C. (Constance) Shibel, Jr., 6 grandchildren; Allison Stone, Laura and Amy Horwitz, Ryan and Kara Fisher and Morgan Shibel, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:15 am Saturday December 3rd in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, Solvay, and 9 am at Holy Family Church, Fairmount, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 pm Friday December 2nd at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Avenue.
