Joseph R. Clark

Joseph R. Clark, 58, of Lakeland, was called to rest by his Maker on Wednesday February 25, 2015. Joe passed peacefully at home surrounded by his beloved family. Joe fought a courageous two year battle with esophageal cancer. Born on the 15th of September 1956, Joe was a lifelong resident of Lakeland. He graduated from Solvay High School in 1975 and worked at Pass & Seymour for many years. Joe was an enthusiastic gardener and beach enthusiast. He loved hanging out with his brother on the beaches of New York, Cape Cod & Florida. Joe was the family videographer, wine maker, Santa’s secret helper, and always went above and beyond for those he loved. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace (Lakeland) and The Basilica of the Sacred Heart (Syracuse). Joe was predeceased by his father; Floyd Richard Clark in 1966 and his uncle; Dan Clark in 2012.

Surviving are his mother; Shirley Clark (Razzano), of Lakeland, brother; Don Clark, of Lakeland, sister; Annette (Bill) Mitson, of Onondaga Hill, nieces; Danielle Mitson, of Brooklyn and Nicole (Brandon) Gumtow, of Camillus, great nieces and nephew; Vita, Evey and Baron Gumtow.

Funeral services will be held at 8:15 am Saturday in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9:00 am at Our Lady of Peace Church, Lakeland, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Peace Mausoleum, Clay. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Friday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue.
