

Mary Rose (Russo) Chistolini, 96, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday July 12th at St. Joseph’s Hospital with her family by her side. She was born August 10, 1914 to Paul and Agostina (Mascari) Russo in Termini-Imerese, Sicily before immigrating to Boston. She lived in Solvay over 40 years before moving to Baldwinsville and eventually to Syracuse. She worked for the Solvay School District for many years before retiring. She was a life member of the Stanley Pennock VFW Post Ladies Auxillary, an avid SU and Boston Red Sox fan, and a longtime communicant of St. Cecilia Church. Mary was predeceased by her husband Caesar in 1963 and her siblings Antonio, Saverio, James, Salvatore, Providenza, Josephine and Rose.
She is survived by a daughter; Elvira Grella, of Syracuse, 2 sons; Louis (Helene), of Camillus and John (Sharon), of DeWitt, 4 grandchildren; Rachael Chistolini, of Fairport, Debra (Todd) Kasmer, of Baldwinsville, Karen Grella, of Syracuse and Paul (Marjorie Jimenez) Grella, of Syracuse, 2 step-grandchildren; Suzanne (John) Ball, of Manlius and Anthony (Kara) DeSantis, of Saugerties, 4 step-great grandchildren; Anthony, Alexander, Gabriella and Connor, her longtime friend, Ann Baraczek and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:15 am Saturday July 16th at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9 am at St. Cecilia Church, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 pm Friday July 15th at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Ave.
