Matilda Myers, 92, of Lakeland, passed away Saturday July 2nd at The Crossings in Minoa. Born in Germantown to Jacob and Elizabeth (Hirschmann) Coons, she lived in Hudson until moving to Syracuse in 1940. She and her husband were members of the Crucible Steel Retirees Club, and enjoyed camping following retirement. She was an avid bowler and longtime member of the NYSWBA, and as a homemaker she loved to cook for her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years Matthew, a son, Egbert and a daughter, Edna Bartlett.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Linda (Fred) McKinney, of Syracuse and Ellen (Kenneth) French, of W. Virginia, 2 sons; Frederick and Allen Myers, both of Syracuse, a daughter-in-law; Joan Myers, of Fairmount, a son-in-law; Russell Bartlett, of Cicero, 30 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 4 to 6 pm Thursday July 7th at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave., Solvay. There will be calling hours on Saturday July 9th from 9 to 11 am at Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home in Hudson, with services to follow at 11 am. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Greenport.
