Mike, Geoff Hodgdon and I were known in high school as the "Tri Foz", a made up name.  We used to throw a party at Sandy Pond on Lake Ontario every summer from 1960 to 64..  We stopped when Geoff Married Gloria and Mike married Sue.  I was in college in San Francisco, and then off to the Marines and married and settled in California.  That broke up the tri foz.

Geoff died in a car wreck in 1971 leaving a wife and 3 kids.  Mike and I raised some funds to tide Gloria over after Geoff's passing.  I was going to contact Mike about our Pebble Hill classes 60th reunion for next year, and was just told he had passed away 8 years ago.  Will raise a toast to him tonight.  Smooth sailing Mike.

I recently heard of Mike's passing and was reminded of the "Good Old Days" I am so sorry for your loss...I was close to Michael & Maureen Sweeney  back in the 50's & early 60's...My mother & Tom (Harry) Sweeney were 2nd cousins so I guess Mike & I were 3rd cousins.  Obviously we fell out of touch like so many distant relatives do, but I remember lots of good time on Overlook Drive. Once again, my sincere condolences.     Tommy Butler

Please accept my sincerest condolences.  I had the priveledge of meeting your family while Mr. Sweeney was sick.  What an amazing family!  It was clear how much of a gentleman he was.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

Although Mr. Sweeney may no longer be with us, his influence and positive impact will remain with me for the rest of my life!  I know I am only one of so many who can say we are better people for knowing him.  He has always held and will continue to hold a special place in my heart.  I am truly blessed to have had him play such an important role in my life and am glad he was able to meet and spend time with my family.

I was so sorry to learn of Mike's death and hope you can find some comfort in knowing your friends care.  I will never forget the wonderful, funny times we shared at Skaneateles and Halcyon over the years.  Mike truly contributed to making it a memorable time.
