Joseph Felix Gondela

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Felix and Anna (Baran) Gondela, he spent his youth in Fall River, graduating from BMC Durfee High School in 1938, lived in Somerset for over 40 years, moving to Florida 8 years ago.

He worked as an Engineer for Montaup Electric for 31 years before retiring in 1982. Mr. Gondela was a Veteran of the US Navy serving on Battleships during World War II, was a member of the “Over the Hill Gang”and enjoyed bowling for many years.

Surviving: two daughters; Jo-Ann Grillo and her husband John, Barbara A. Dubois and her husband Leonard all of Florida. Five grandchildren; Holli, Mallory, Jonathan, Mindy, Michelle, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Sherry Dubois.

His Funeral will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 8:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at Rose E. Sullivan 866 County St. in Somerset, followed by his Funeral Mass at 9:00AM in St. Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Ave., Somerset. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-7 PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to Cornerstone Hospice and Pallative Care, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, Florida 32778. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset.
