Thomas K. Medeiros

Born in Fall River, a son of Marilyn (Carrington) Simard of Fall River and the late James T. Medeiros, Sr., and step-son of Gerald A. Simard and Catherine Medeiros. He spent his youth in the city attending B.M.C. Durfee High School and moved to Somerset 20 years ago.

Mr. Medeiros was a former owner and operator of Tim Horton’s in Fall River and Middletown. Prior to that he served as a Fall River Fire Fighter for 18 years. Active in his community, he was a member of the Fall River Chamber of Commerce, the International Fire Fighters Association and was involved with ‘Big Friends, Little Friends’, as well as the Tim Horton’s Children’s Foundation. Tom loved all sports –especially the Boston Teams. He was an outgoing and very friendly person who enjoyed all people-especially children. His hobbies included camping, skiing and the beach.

Also surviving: 1 daughter- Kaitlin Medeiros, 1 son-Colton T. Medeiros both of Somerset, 1 sister-Lisa G. Rogers (husband David) of Somerset, 4 brothers- James T. Medeiros, Jr. (wife Susan) of Swansea, David M. Medeiros of Fall River, Kevin J. Medeiros of Swansea, Michael M. Medeiros (wife Kimberly) of Fall River, 7 nieces and 1 nephew. He was also the son-in-law of Jo-Ann E. Silvia and the late Russell Silvia, brother-in-law of Deanna DeMello (husband Daniel) and Russell M. Silvia, all of Somerset.

Visiting hours on Monday, December 27, 4-8 PM at the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. His funeral will be held Tuesday, December 28, at 10:00 AM in St. Thomas More Church, Luther Ave. Somerset, MA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Java Jungle Scholarship Fund c/o Citizens Union Savings Bank, 4 South Main Street Fall River, MA 02721. Burial private.
