Esther C. Robinson Rod

Born in Gardner, MA, a daughter of the late Gunnar and Signe (Nelson) Robinson, she had resided in Gardner for many years before moving to Dartmouth in 1967. Mrs. Rod was a graduate of Gardner High School, class of 1940.

She was the office manager for Rod’s, Inc. for 16 years, retiring in 1965. She also worked in the trust department at the First National and Fall River Trust Banks.

She was a member of the Smith Mills Christian Congregational Church, the Dartmouth Friends of the Elderly and the Order of the Eastern Star. She and her loving husband John traveled extensively around the world including trips to the Canary Islands, Norway, Sweden and Bermuda.

Surviving in addition to her husband is her son, Alan J. Rod of Montgomery, AL; grandchildren, Stephanie Morgan of Austin, TX, Rachel Stewart, A. Jeffrey Rod and Michael J. Rod all of Montgomery, AL; a brother, Gunnar A. Robinson, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Emily Asikainen and Charles A. Robinson.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 11am in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth.
