

Born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal a daughter of the late Manuel and Olinda (Cabral) Cabral, she had lived in Dartmouth since 1967 and she was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
Mrs. Carreiro worked as a stitcher. She loved to cook and was famous for her Portuguese sweet bread and malassadas. Gloria enjoyed her garden and her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Antonio Carreiro of TN, Manuel Carreiro of Westport, and Rui Carreiro of Dartmouth; nine grandchildren, Antonio, Jr., Catlin, Thomas, Bridget, Joshua, Christopher, Bianca, Michael, and Dylan; two great grandchildren, Joshie and Juliana; two sisters, Maria Jose Pacheco of Canada and Olinda Aguiar of New Bedford; a brother, John Cabral of Fairhaven; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Friday, July 31, 2015 at 9:30 am from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME of MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Rivet St., New Bedford. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Bedford. Visitation will be Thursday 5-8 pm. For online tribute/directions www.waring-sullivan.com.
