Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Louis F. and Stella V. (Rolnick) Bigos, he was a lifelong resident of Dartmouth. Lou was a graduate of Dartmouth High School, class of 1966. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College and the received his Master’s degree from Northeastern University. Lou served his country proudly, serving in the United States Air Force, obtaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Lou served two tours of duty in Vietnam and during Operation Desert Storm. He was also a member of Special Operations. He was an Airline Captain for more than 25 years with People Express and later with Continental Airlines after their merger in 1981; he retired in 2006.
Lou was an avid fisherman, enjoyed the casino, loved to be home with Mary Lou when they were not traveling the world. He also enjoyed their time at the summer home on Deval Pond in Westport.
Lou is survived by the love of his life and his best friend, Mary Lou Ferreira of North Providence and several cousins; and many, many great friends.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 9:00AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd., Dartmouth.
