Luis Alberto Cabral, 81, of Dartmouth, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River. He was the husband of Maria A. (Almeida) Cabral with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he came to the United States at the age of 27. While in the Azores, he served in the Portuguese Army. He had resided in New Bedford for many years until moving to Dartmouth in 1999.
Mr. Cabral received his Master Electrical License and had a successful career as a Master Electronic Technician. He worked for Baystate TV, then opened his own business, Cabral’s TV on Acushnet Ave. in New Bedford. He retired from Brittney Dye as their head maintenance and repair electronics technician.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Steven Cabral of New Bedford and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the son of the late Maria do Carmo Cabral.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 8:30am-10am in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30am in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle St., New Bedford. Burial is private.
