Maria Gorette Rego

Maria Gorette (Silveira) Rego, 54, of Dartmouth, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Massachusetts General Hospital following a long illness. She was the wife of Paul Souza Rego with whom she shared 25 years of marriage.

Born in Flores, Portugal, the daughter of Emilia (Alves) Silveira and the late Jose Silveira, she had resided in Dartmouth for the past 25 years.

She had worked for Frionor in New Bedford for 12 years. Maria loved to cook and spend time with her family. She also enjoyed the company of her dog, Cole. Maria will be greatly missed by her loving family.

Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are her children, Ryan Paul Rego and Erin Marie Rego of Dartmouth; her siblings, Jose M. Da Silveira and his wife Salome of New Bedford, Leonel Silveira and his wife Maria Albertina of New Bedford, Gustavo Silveira and his wife Diamantina of Flores, Portugal, Maria F. Figueiredo and her husband Antonio of Ontario, Canada, Aida Sousa and her husband Emanuel of Dartmouth, Jose R. Silveira and his wife Lurdes of New Bedford and Jose A. Silveira of Flores, Portugal; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Humberto “Bert” and Carmen S. Rego; her brother-in-law and his wife, Marc S. and Paula Rego; her sister-in-law and her husband, Lisa Marie and Brian Koczera all of Dartmouth; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 9 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth, followed by a funeral mass at 10 AM in St. Mary’s Church, 783 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth.
