Mr and Mrs Macomber, Charlie and particularly my old friend Russ, 

It is with great sorrow and shock that I hear of Wendy's passing. I met Wendy through my childhood friendship with Russ. I later had the pleasure of regularly sharing her company as she chauffeured our small, fun gang to Bridgewater State College and back for the weekends. Her laugh was infectious, but she was gentle and ensured the laughter was shared. Wendy was also very kind to my Mother and always had time for a chat during her frequent walks past our family home.  

I hope you find peace in reading all the lovely tributes to Wendy as I have just done. Her life and work were clearly respected by all that knew her.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Macomber, Charlie and Russell,
So sorry to hear of Wendy's passing.  We were childhood friends, as you may remember.  I spent many fun times at your beautiful home with Wendy, we had such a good time together, thank you.  My family also remembers Wendy and sends their condolences.  May your wonderful memory of her be a blessing to all.

I began my career with Wendy at DSS now almost 30 years ago.  We had lost touch through job changes but I had recently been able to see Wendy again at adoptions at Court.  We reminisced about the old days and laughed like we were twenty-somethings again! I'm so glad I was able to spend some time again with Wendy.  Her smile was still so bright and contagious! I am fortunate to have known her and will remember her fondly.  Rest in Peace.

I worked with Wendy at Ponderosa Steak House, she was in my wedding party, she became an "aunty" to my two daughters......a sweet genuine loving person with a heart filled with happiness laughter and love for everyone and all animals.....her laughter will ring in my ears and bring a smile to my face....my deepest sympathy to her family....

     I just heard of Wendy;s passing this morning. Wendy was a good friend of mine while at Bridgewater State College and while we both worked at the Ponderosa Steakhouse.I will always have fond memories of her and thought about her many times throughout the years.Sadly, we lost touch long ago. Rest in Peace Wendy, I will never forget you.

Prayers from the heart for our Aunt & Uncle, and all of our cousins who are truly feeling such a deep sense of loss.  There are no words in the English language to describe how to categorize the loss of a child;  spouses pass and the left behind is a widow or widower; parents pass and the children are suddenly orphans.  But the loss of a child goes against the natural order we have come to expect; and it's in these times of unbearable pain we question God's very existence and ultimately, His plan.  How do we go on? 

Christ's promise in the Beatitudes belongs to us now:  He will give us courage & comfort even in the midst of sorrow.  Remember, when you do not know how you will ever move forward, you don't have to know.  He knows.

The kind words written here of Wendy's caring spirit for the Least of These are uplifting and consoling.  She has obviously touched many, many lives of those less fortunate, who will go on to touch others lives because of what she did for them.  May the circle of love that she began in her life not be unbroken and may you all seek the peace that passes understanding in the days & weeks ahead...

To The Macomber Family ~ I am so sorry for your loss. I have been friends with Wendy since grammar school. I consider her to be one of the most kindest, caring persons I knew. She had a great sense of humor. To this day, I laugh uncontrollably when I think of the laughs we shared while playing in the school orchestra with Mr. Botelho. Wendy would turn bright red, and laugh so hard she could not speak. Rest in peace my friend...you will be greatly missed.

Wendy was a dear friend of mine for 35 years! We met in college. We had many wonderful times together whether going to Mexico, FL, NY or just hanging out. She was just so gentle and kind. Wendy had a wonderful sense of humor. I will miss our chats! To Wendy's family, I can only imagine your pain. She was a wonderful daughter and sister. Until we meet again...rest easy my dear friend.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I've known Wendy since grammar school and she was a good friend. I'll always have fond memories of when we were in girl scouts together or just hanging around at her house when we were kids. She was always so kind! I'll always remember her laugh!

Wendy came into our lives over 22 years ago. We adopted our first child through DCF. We were so proud and happy that day in court and we treasure our picture of Wendy with our family and the judge. Now, adopting again, it was great having Wendy by our side once more.

She was such a caring and kind person: we had so many good times working together on cases. When ever I ran into her she would excitedly fill me in with updates on how children were doing. I had the pleasure of working with Wendy at DCF for the past 23 years.  She was honestly one of the nicest people I have ever worked with.  She was also very kind, thoughtful, funny and extremely passionate about her job.  She worked tirelessly, like no one else I know, to ensure that children on her caseload found their forever homes/families.  Her passing is such a significant loss to the field of social work and this agency.  She will be missed by many...I miss her already!  My deepest sympathy to you all.

I have shared many cases with Wendy and was deeply saddened when I heard that she had passed away. She was a kind and compassionate woman who cared deeply for the children and families that she worked with. My condolences to her family and loved ones. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I just heard of Wendy's passing away and I am truly saddened.  Even though I did not work with Wendy at DCF, I did so when I was following cases as an Early Intervention Service Coordinator. My Deepest Sympathies and Comforting Thoughts to my Aunt Lois, Uncle Charlie, and cousins Russ and Chucky.

My cousin Wendy was an amazing and beautiful person, inside and out. Her love of the  children and families she worked with and the commitment she had to their happiness and welfare was proof of that. 

Wendy made sure the children and families she brought together through her work as a social worker was done with love, happiness and intent that the connections would last forever. The stories I have read here are  a testimony of her success to that mission she took to heart. 

The connections and friendships she made with my-workers at MENTOR were just as special and I know my Office will miss her dearly.

She was the only person I knew who had a "silly squeaky voice" when she talked to animals, just like me. She loved animals and always thought of bringing my dogs, Sadie and Paisley a treat when she would visit. 

Wendy is and will always be an amazing, beautiful, kind and adored person to me and I will forever keep her in my heart. I miss her very very much and always will.

I came back from vacation this week to find out the devastating news that Wendy had passed. Those of us that had the special honor of working with Wendy know that she was a beautiful person, a kind-hearted, warm, dedicated soul who truly cared for the children she served. She worked tirelessly to ensure her kids had what they needed and to try her best to find the best good homes for them. Surely Wendy is safe in the arms of angels now, comforted, peaceful, and reaping the many deserved heavenly rewards that she most certainly earned during her most meaningful time here on earth! My deepest sympathy to Wendy's family and friends, and I hope you receive comfort from knowing how many lives this precious woman touched every single day! She is already missed so much!

I am so sorry to hear of Wendy's passing. We worked together for many years and shared many cases. The families and children she worked with always had such nice things to say about Wendy. She often went above and beyond.  My kids could always count on her during school fundraising projects. Wendy was truly a kind soul. She will be sorely missed by all.

There is no doubt in my mind that Wendy saved my son's life. She knew the honor and the responsibility that came with her position. Wendy was the one dependable and consistent adult in his life for years and she knew him inside and out. We will be forever blessed because that knowledge led her to place him with our family. He was the last of a large group of siblings, all placed with their meant-to-be families by Wendy. I believe she had God's ear. She listened to His whispers and gave every one of her kids not only the gift of forever families but the gift of healing they so deserved. We are so saddened by this loss. The only solace I can find is that this angel on earth now has the opportunity to do the job for real. No longer hindered by the limitations of her earthly body, now she can watch over all the kids here on earth in need of families and healing.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. I can only imagine how she has touched your lives. She was in ours so briefly but she changed it forever.

I have had the pleasure of working with Wendy for over 20 years, but for the past 4 years I have worked closely with her in the Adoption Unit. There I saw how dedicated she was to her job, to her children she worked with. She was an amazing woman. She gave each and every child she was assigned to her all. She made sure these children were going to have a good life.  For that, I thank you Wendy. You have made a difference in this world. You have also touched so many hearts, including mine, with your kindness. I am honored to call you my friend. I will miss you dearly.

Wendy entered into our family's life in 2011 when we became pre-adoptive parents for 2 beautiful young boys.  She knew our journey would have its' challenges as well as its' joys and through it all Wendy was always there for us.   During the first year with the boys, I called her almost weekly in tears not knowing if I could care for the boys but her words of wisdom and support always gave me hope.  Her dedication and devotion to our family was second to none.  Although we knew she had a caseload of other children & families, she made us feel as if we were her only priority. She cried with us, laughed with us but most of all she stood by us supported us and fought for our family to get the support we needed. Today we are stronger because of her and the team of people she has placed in our lives.   

Wendy was a caring, compassionate, devoted, and dedicated social worker but more importantly she was a friend and a part of our family.  We will miss her so very much but we know that this world is a better place because of Wendy and that her legacy will live on through the many lives she has touched.

I have no doubt Wendy saved our son's life. Such a genuine sweet soul, she recognized the honor and responsibility of the role she played in her kids' lives. She was the only consistent and dependable adult in our son's life and she knew him inside and out.  We will be forever blessed because that knowledge led her to place him with us. Our son was the last of a large group of siblings she placed, each to their meant-to-be families. I do not doubt that God had her ear. She listened to the whispers and found perfect fit families. We are so saddened by this loss. The only solace I can find is that now she is no longer limited by an earthly body and this angel in life will now have the chance to play the role for real. Aunty I love you so much. You've lived here my entire life. This is so painful. We were together 24/7. Me you and loyalty.  He loved you so much. These past few days have been so hard not seeing you. I'm so use to sitting on the stairs and talking to you. Loyalty running and kissing you.  If he was being stubborn you'd make sure you got your kisses from him one way. You were an amazing person and I will never forget you. This house will never be the same without you here.  No more hitting the back of the garage pulling in and joking about it.  No more ty thinking i meant ty food.  No more loyalty aunty time.  Its just weird.  Ill never get use to this one bit.  I love you so much aunty i always will ❤

My thoughts and prayers are with all her friends, family and co-workers. I had the pleasure of getting to know Wendy when we worked together  many years ago. Her kindness, dedication and passion could be seen everyday. She was truly an amazing and geninuine  individual. Her loss will be felt tremendously.

Every day I wake up still not believing this is true. Wendy has positively impacted my life since I was born, and she had been my mother's best friend and rock for over 25 years. I am blessed to have been able to call her an Aunt, even if it was not by blood. All of my memories with her are positive and I am so greatful to have those with me. Wendy will always live on in spirit in our home! 
She will remain sorely missed
and loved by many.

Wendy has impacted so many lives in a positive way. She may be gone from this earth but the children she helped find forever homes are a legacy which will gone on forever. Our office has lost an amazing woman.

Wendy was a wonderful friend and extended framily member.  I will carry a piece of her always.  Such an honor to call her friend.  My sympathy to her Mom, Dad, brothers and other family members. I worked briefly with Wendy in the Taunton D.S.S./D.C.F. Office...always smiling...always positive.  A few of my foster parents worked with Wendy during transitions to pre-adoptive homes...they always found her to be caring and interested in the child's well being.  A significant loss to the families of the Commonwealth.

Wendy will be missed.  She was always interested in what you had to say and always made time for you.  She was kind and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was a true friend. I will miss you.

Wendy was a gentle soul with an impish sense of humor. She was the type of person who quietly went about her job without drawing a lot of fanfare to her many accomplishments as a social worker. Quiet, kind, compassionate, dedicated, hardworking and always putting her "kids" first...making sure they had a special place to call home and a family to love them.  Wendy's wonderful legacy in DCF will live on in the friendships she made and the families she brought together.  To Wendy's family, please know that she was loved and appreciated by many.  My sincerest sympathies and prayers are with you.  God has called another angel home. She will be missed.

I have been a foster parent for a long time,and have had a lot of children adopted where Wendy was their worker. She has always been caring and truly tried to pick the best match for her kids. I will miss her....but Wendy you did good! Rest in peace...

I am saddened to hear of this tremendous loss.  Wendys' life will always be remembered in the work she did so gracefully and compassionately.  She touched so many lives.  Prayers and thoughts of comfort and peace to all those who mourn her.

Three and a half years ago Wendy introduced us to our children.  She, along with an amazing team from DCF, stood by our side and guided us through our journey to becoming a forever family.  We will be celebrating our two year anniversary this weekend. We will be forever grateful to Wendy and feel blessed that we had the opportunity to work with and be supported by her.  May she rest in peace.

Wendy will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by so many. I had the great pleasure of being able to work with Wendy and become friends. Wendy was the most sincere, genuine, caring and honest person that I have ever met. She worked diligently to create the most amazing adoptive families.  I will miss her greatly.

When I transferred to the Taunton Office I shared my first case with Wendy. She was the most genuine, caring person. She truly knew each child she oversaw and worked hard to make sure their adoptive family was the perfect match. She will be missed by all.

Wendy was well known for her endless caring and compassion.  The families she helped to create and the children she cared for so deeply for in her work as an adoption social worker will never forget her commitment.  She was a treasured colleague and will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. I was Wendy's supervisor for 20 years until I retired in January.  Wendy was a loving, caring and compassionate person. I will miss her a great deal.
