Son of Daniel and Alice Coletti of East Providence, RI, where he worked as a mason—a craftsman’s trade which would inspire his son’s career years later. He moved to Worcester, MA in his 20’s to pursue a career as a certified financial planner. He loved his job and it showed. Over the 50+ years of his career, many of his clients became friends and his friends clients. He shared his love for his calling freely and mentored many friends and family joining the field. He didn’t consider retirement until someone asked him about cryptocurrency in 2019.
He married his wife Sherrilyn, a pediatric nurse, whom he often referred to as “the only one for me,” in 1978. They raised their family in West Boylston for 30 years before moving to Cape Cod. During this time he ran a local golf tournament to support leukemia research for several years and served on local community groups including Kiwanis. He also taught countless friends (children and adults alike) his favorite card game, Pitch. He played often. He rarely lost.
He is survived by his wife Sherrilyn of Dennis, his son Danny of Worcester, and his daughter Shannon and her husband Amish of New York City. He is also survived by his sister Maureen of Princeton, NJ, his brother Paul and husband Jack of Largo, FL and his brother Stephen and wife Pamela of East Greenwich, RI along with their children and grandchildren.
Family and Friends will gather on Friday, November 3rd from 10-11 a.m. at Doane, Beal & Ames in South Dennis, MA . An 11 a.m. service will immediately follow. A reception at the family home, also in Dennis, will take place after services.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation in his name to Tufts Medical Center at https://giving.tuftsmedicalcenter.org/give
