June 14, 1952- February 21, 2017
David Peter Daniliuk passed away unexpectedly, his spirit soaring over the Cape that he loved so well. Formerly of Maynard, Dave was the best friend and husband of Susan (Piecewicz) Daniliuk, who made her laugh – even when she was mad at him.
He was supportive, accepting and a true friend to his children, Nicole Poirier and husband, Anthony, Erik Daniliuk and wife, Talia, and Craig Daniliuk and fiancé, Christine Sullivan. Although they jokingly referred to him as Mr. Predictable, he imparted the values of integrity, loyalty, commitment, in addition to stupid dad jokes.
A man of quick wit, good humor and generosity of spirit, he remained loyal to his Somerville friends, engaging with them over decades. Dave worked at Reece Corp, where he met his future wife, and at Analog Devices for 30 years before retiring on Cape Cod in 2014. He was tremendously respected and sought after by his colleagues, friends, and even the friends of his children. Young people in particular could talk to him about anything without being judged. As one of his children’s friends said, “He was part of why it was so great to grow up in Maynard.”
Dave had no biases beyond, of course, sports team lines. His many and diverse friends enjoyed watching him watch New England sports teams from his “lucky corner.” Even before it became a famous line, Dave’s motto in life, was, whether personal or business, “just do your job.”
Dave was the son of the late Peter and Millie (Pelletrino) Daniliuk and leaves behind his sister Joanne Wright.
