Gerald Patrick McMahon

He was born to the late William and Edna McMahon, January 17, 1929, in Beverly, MA. Jerry graduated from New Rochelle High School and received a Bachelor’s degree from Fordham University. He married Mary Fitzgerald in 1956, and they raised their family in New Rochelle, NY before retiring to Cape Cod in 1998.

Jerry worked in advertising and promotions until he retired in 1998. He also volunteered with the New Rochelle High School football and Iona College football programs. After moving to Cape Cod, he volunteered with Dennis-Yarmouth High School Football and the Yarmouth Police Department.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary, and their four children: Mary-Pat (Jim) Byrnes of NY; Sarah (Steve) Serling of MA; Cathy (Steve) Schwartz of SC; Jay (Erin) McMahon of NY and eight grandchildren, Timothy, Michael, Jeanne, Eric, Nicole, Jennifer, Jenna, Emma and one great-grandchild, Evelyn. He is one of eight children of William and Edna McMahon and is also survived by his brother, David and sister, Mimi and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in his honor to The Nicholas G. Xiarhos Fund.

A wake will be held March 25, 2022, 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held at St. Pius X, Saturday, March 26th. Burial will be held following the mass at Chandler Gray Cemetery.
