James Daniel Roderick

On June 15, 2021, sometime during the night, an angel was dispatched to guide Jim to Heaven from his recliner. He left behind his oxygen tubing and struggle with COPD to rest peacefully with God in Heaven.

He was born in Somerville, MA, on September 26, 1934, to Daniel S. and Mary (Dias) Roderick. He joined the US Navy in April, 1955, attained the rank of Gunner’s Mate Third Class, serving aboard the Charles S. Sperry (DD-697), and was honorably discharged on February 8, 1961. He retired in 2012, from CC Construction Co., So. Dennis, MA.

He is survived by two sons from a previous marriage; his wife, Dianne (Whittemore) Roderick; their co-parented daughters, Sondra A. Lennon (Kevin), of Cummaquid, MA; Erika L. Cloutier (Ronnie) of Heath, TX; granddaughters, Veronika L. Cloutier of Pittsburg, PA; and Olivia D. Cloutier of Frisco, TX. He was predeceased by siblings Cecelia Roderick; Daniel Roderick, Mary Mula, Theresa Moreira and William Roderick and survived by brother, Charles Roderick (Jean).

Burial services will be held on July 7, 2021, 1:00 pm, at the Whittemore family plot located at the Dennis Union Church Cemetery, Rte. 6A, Dennis, MA. A reception for remembrance and fellowship will be held directly following the service at the social hall in the Dennis Union Church adjacent to the cemetery.
