

Jane S. Pomeroy, 86, of East Dennis, Massachusetts died on May 6th at her home.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1927, daughter of Glendon M. Pomeroy and Janette (Seward) Pomeroy, she attended The Bancroft School in Worcester, Massachusetts and Pine Manor College in Newton, Massachusetts. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1949 and began a 23 year career teaching English at the House in the Pines School in Norton, Massachusetts. In 1972 she joined the administrative staff of the Stephen L. French Youth Forestry Camp in Brewster, Massachusetts and was subsequently selected to be the Director of the Camp from 1994 to 1996. She was an Advisor to the Trustees of The Jacob Sears Memorial Library in Dennis, Massachusetts. Her retirement allowed her to spend time reading, writing, traveling and being with her family and friends.
She leaves behind a dear friend, Mary Van Loan of East Lyme, Connecticut, a brother, Seward E. Pomeroy, of Worcester, Massachusetts and two nephews, Glendon Pomeroy and Keith Pomeroy and a niece, Linda Roth.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, June 2nd, 2013, at 12:30 PM at The Dennis Inn, 25 Scarsdale Road, Dennis, Massachusetts.
