Margaret E. Passaro

Dennis-Margaret “Peg” (Herzog) Passaro, 62, of East Dennis passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on October 20, 2012, following a long illness. Peg was born in Dorchester, MA on June 22, 1950 and was the only child of the late Herman F. Herzog Jr. and Dorothy Herzog Gagner. The Herzog’s traveled quite a bit during Peg’s childhood years. By the time she had entered into high school, they had settled in Natick, MA where she graduated in 1968. It was not long after Peg moved to Cape Cod.

It was there she met her husband, Fred Passaro. They were married in 1979 and settled down in East Dennis. Two years later, they welcomed the first of their three daughters: Vanessa (Passaro) Ring of Wareham, MA, followed by Gina Passaro of Stowe, VT, and Francesca Passaro of Brighton, MA. She worked many years in retail and in banking, and then eleven years for her husband’s business, Passaro, Leverone, and Buckley Insurance Agency. Her real passion was being a homemaker. Peg was most happy seeing her family all together. She was a lover of all animals, especially her cats. She enjoyed cooking, making arts and crafts, reading books, and traveling to her favorite spot, Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. Peg truly loved the tranquility of the lake. She often said it was her home-away-from-home; her most favorite place to be.

Besides her husband and three daughters, Peg is also survived by her son-in-law, Patrick Ring and granddaughter Natalie Ring, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son, Geoffrey Ormond from her first marriage to Paul Ormond of Harwich, MA.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Doane, Beal & Ames, 729 Route 134, South Dennis, MA. A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of the Cape, 468 Stony Brook Road Brewster, MA, on Thursday, October 25, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA), 1577 Falmouth Road, Centerville, MA 02632.
