Robert F. Cleary Sr.

Robert F. Cleary, Sr., 83, of Dennisport for over 30 years, passed away Monday, July 25, 2011, peacefully and with the love of family. He was the beloved husband of the late Elinor (Tivenan) Cleary for 47 years.

He was born in Boston and with his family he enjoyed coming to the Cape for summers for many years. After serving in the Korean War, he received his engineering degree from Northeastern University. He worked for many years at EG&G before retiring to the Cape.

Bob was the devoted father of Robert F. Cleary, Jr. of Chicago, David J. and Kristine L. Cleary and their children, Kaitlin M. and Kevin D. all of Marshfield, William J. and Carolyn R. Cleary and their children, Michael J. and Joseph D. of Ellicott City, Maryland and Linda C. and Arnold C. Dupuy and their children Jeffrey C. and Elisabeth Elinor of Fairfax, VA.

Bob also enjoyed the love of his in-laws, Mary M. Murphy and Walter J. Tivenan of West Roxbury, and Marjorie C. Tivenan of Dennis Port. Bob shared a special bond with his daughter-in-law, Kris.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28 from 4PM to 8PM at Doane Beal and Ames Funeral Home, 729 Rt. 134, S. Dennis, MA. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 29 at 10AM at the Holy Trinity Parish, 246 Main St., W. Harwich, followed by burial at Oakridge Cemetery.
