Robert J. Daly

Born in Somerville MA January 26, 1924. Bob served in the Pacific Theater in the US Navy Seabees (41-45) during WWII. He married Anna Theresa Canney of Charlestown (deceased 2001). Bob and Anna settled in Somerville, moved to Natick in 1963 and retired to the Cape Cod in 1993.Bob worked at the Natick Laboratories for 30 plus years for the Federal Government. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Dennis Pines and Highlands Golf Course, a parishioner at Our Lady of the Cape Church, Dennis Senior Center and a life member of VFW Post 2331 Ashland MA.

He is survived by his sibling Anne O’Donnell of Somerville and his six children: Robert Jr. and his wife Christine of Pardeeville WI, Margaret Canfield and her husband Dennis of Centennial CO, Anne Daly and her husband Kevin Kelly of Hollis NH, Edward and his wife Ann of Holliston MA, Michael Daly of Zephyr Cove, NV, and Marianne Daly of Dennis MA . Eleven grandchildren: Michael Daly, Melissa Leeland, and Erin Polizzo, Dan and Clare Canfield, Emily, Nora and Tess Kelly, Andrea and Elizabeth Daly, Luke David. Six great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers a donation to Dennis Fire and Rescue, or the Dennis Senior Center would be greatly appreciated. Calling Hours: Friday May 8, 2015 2-6 pm at the Doane, Beale, and Ames Funeral Home Rt. 134 Dennis MA. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Cape, Monday May 11, 2015 11 am, burial to follow at the National Veterans Cemetery in Bourne MA at 1:30 pm.
