Robert Edlow Hood

Robert (Bob) was the second oldest child of Leo L. Hood and Jesse (Sweeney) Hood of Falmouth, MA. He graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in 1957.

He married his childhood love, Joan in May 1960. The couple raised their family in Walpole MA where they were longtime residents and members of the community. He worked at Boston Edison for over 3 decades as a lineman.

He was fond of golfing every chance he could with his league, family and friends. He kept himself busy with home improvement projects which he was always finding. He loved the beach often just going to watch the surf. He cherished his family dearly and enjoyed times when they could all be together.

Bob is predeceased by his wife Joan and survived by his four children Matthew, Robert, David and Melissa, as well as their spouses and partners, Janet, Tammy, Laura and Matthew. He was blessed with eight grandchildren Catherine, Allison, Robert, Patrick, Jacob, Ian, Meghan and Brett who all love and miss their Grampy. He is survived by his siblings Carol Hood, Judy Hood, Nancy Menelik, Kenneth Hood and his wife Sharon, Mimi Dayhuff and her husband Bill, Malcolm Hood and his wife Susan and many nieces and nephews and predeceased by his parents Leo and Jesse, sister Patrice and brother Leo.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 from 4-8pm at Doane, Beal and Ames, 729 Route 134, South Dennis. Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 8. 2025 at 11:30am at Milton Cemetery 211 Centre St, Milton, MA.
