Sam was born in Winchester, MA, and raised in Falmouth to the late Samuel Sr. and Ruth C. Ingram. He graduated from Lawrence High School, Class of 1964, and later attended Bentley University.
During high school, Sam was a dedicated two-season athlete, playing both hockey and golf. His love of hockey continued after graduation when he coached the Franklin Flyers youth hockey team, where he enjoyed teaching young players the art of the game. While he loved sharing hockey with the kids, his true passion was golf. That passion began with his first job at Woods Hole Golf Club, where he achieved the coveted hole-in-one, an accomplishment he proudly cherished throughout his life.
After college, Sam began his career in the newspaper business, working for the Boston Globe and other newspapers in the Boston area. With a family on the way and his heart on Cape Cod, he later left the newspaper industry and moved to Dennis. There he earned his real estate license, worked for several years with a local realtor, and eventually started his own company, Century 21 Sam Ingram Real Estate.
As a broker, Sam became highly successful, receiving numerous awards within the Century 21 franchise and ultimately serving on the New England Regional Century 21 Board of Directors. In the community, he served on the board of directors for the Chamber of Commerce and organized golf tournaments to raise funds for automatic defibrillators to be placed in local businesses.
Sam is survived by his former wife, Judith Ingram of South Dennis; his brother, Paul Ingram and his wife Susan of Gloucester; his two sons, Sean Ingram of South Dennis and Brian Ingram and his wife Kate of Dennis; as well as two nieces; Laura and Emma, and four grandchildren; Nora, Jacob, Rachel, and Jamie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life on April 11, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Dennis Highlands Golf Course, 825 Old Bass River Road, Dennis, MA.
