Steven was born on February 5,1959 in Ballston Spa, NY. He attended Arlington High School, where he met the love of his life, his wife, Pam. He later followed her to Cape Cod, MA where they built their life together. He was a craftsman by trade, in which he honed in on his talent of custom finished woodworking. Steve spent many years working and later running Viking Millwork in Hyannis. Following his employment with The Mill, he worked for the Town of Harwich in a similar skilled capacity. He then retired after 13 years.
Growing up in the Hudson Valley of NY, his love for adventure, the outdoors and animals became evident. It continued on the Cape where he learned to windsurf on Lewis Bay and ice sail on Long and Hinckley Ponds in Harwich, leading him to find a love for fishing. Although his first love was his family, he continued to enjoy these activities while re-visiting his joy of motocross. He was also a fan of all the Boston Sports teams.
Following retirement, he found another passion; caring for his Mother-in-Law. Although he may have been quiet, his compassion and humor spoke volumes.
In addition to his loving wife Pam, of almost 35 years, he was survived by his Mother, Carol, and his older brother Bruce and wife Linda; all from NY. He was also survived by his children; Jordan Barnes and Taylor Aboody and husband Matthew, and beloved dog, Missy. He was also survived by several nieces, nephews, brother-in -laws and sister-in-laws. Steven was pre-deceased by his father Gerald and his sister Cindy Rodrigues.
A visitation for Steven is planned for Saturday, April 9th, 2-4pm at Doane Beal and Ames in South Dennis, MA. A private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Steven’s name can be made to Animal Rescue League of Boston.
