Vincenzo Gastaldo

Born on November 6, 1929 in Dennison, OH, he was the son of the late Lorenzo and Francesca (Rinaldi) Gastaldo.

In 1959, Vincenzo graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. He was employed as an Electrical Engineer for GTE Sylvania. Following his retirement from GTE, he went on to work for Fidelity Investments and then the United States Post Office until age 82.

Vincenzo enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, cooking old world Italian soups and competing in his family’s Bocce Ball tournaments. He was the original Do It Yourself guy and loved home improvement projects. “Gus” was passionate about trading and investing in the stock market.

Being a man of great faith, he loved to teach others about the bible. On December 24, 2005, he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was a true patriarch to his adoring family and more than anything, he cherished the time that he shared with them.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria I. Gastaldo of East Dennis; his five children, Gregg Gastaldo and his wife, Cindy of Seekonk, MA, Gina Haynes and her husband, Darrell of Bellingham, MA, Gary Gastaldo and his wife, Lori of Flagstaff, AZ, James Gastaldo and his wife, Gilda of Marlborough, MA, John Gastaldo and his wife, Mary Beth of Natick, MA; his twelve grandchildren, Dominic Gastaldo, Joshua, Carl and Jeremy Provost, Lindsey, JohnAnthony and Daniel Gastaldo, Lorenzo and Giovanna Gastaldo, Olivia, Matthew and Sophia Gastaldo; his five great grandchildren; and his four siblings Ede Willoughby, Armando Gastaldo, Corrado Gastaldo and Adolph Gastaldo, all of Ohio.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 316 Old Bass River Road in South Dennis, MA.
