
Born in Boston, he grew up in Needham MA and attended St. Joseph School and Saint Sebastian's School, where he played football and graduated in 1969. Following high school, he attended The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA for two years before enrolling in St John's Seminary in Brighton for a semester. He graduated with a history degree from Framingham State College.
Over the years, Bill worked in various jobs caring for the physically and developmentally challenged. He also sold life insurance for John Hancock and worked for the Boy Scouts of America and for the Nauset Public Schools in Orleans, MA.
For the past few years, Bill had been disabled and living at home.
An avid fisherman for Striped Bass and Blue Fish in Cape Cod Bay, Bill enjoyed digging, stuffing and cooking quahogs, and relaxing on Cape Cod beaches, especially at Saints' Landing Beach in Brewster, which is named for his family.
A generous guy with a huge heart, Bill volunteered many hours helping recovering alcoholics, addicted youths and people in need of a place to live. He was also a lifelong and active member and 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
Bill is the second of five sons of the late Paul F. Saint, a former selectman in Needham and then a long-time selectman in Brewster MA and the late Marion R. Saint.
He is survived by four brothers, P. Michael Saint of Franklin, TN; David J. Saint of New York City, John L. Saint of Newburyport, MA and Joseph R. Saint of New York City and Stratford, CT.
He also leaves six nieces, one nephew, and five cousins and 16 second cousins.
Calling hours will be from 4–8 pm Monday Nov. 17 at the Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home, 729 Rte. 134 in South Dennis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, Nov 18 at Our Lady of the Cape Catholic Church, 468 Stony Brook Rd, Brewster, MA.
Burial will be in a plot next to the graves of his late parents in Brewster Cemetery, just a few hundred yards through the woods from the family home on Robbins Hill Road, where Bill spent more than 20 summers as a youth.
