Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ed moved to the US in 1968, eventually settling down in Levittown, PA before moving to Warminster, PA where he resided for more than 40 years with his beloved wife, Gabriella.
In addition to his wife, Gabriella, Ed is greatly missed and survived by his children, Brian Pentz (Doris), Jackie Hause (Henry), Alex Lenicky (Anne), and Doria Lenicky; his sister Vicky Krecko (Frank); and grandchildren, Ed Pentz-Barbee (Ravyn), Brian Pentz, Jr., Nicholas Pentz and Tanner Lenicky. Ed is also survived by 3 great grandchildren: Rogue, Emery and Nicholas, in addition to many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, Juan and Rosalie Pentz, and sister, Liliana Pentz.
In 1986, Ed founded EMP Industries, Inc., a CNC manufacturing company located in Ivyland, PA where he served as President until his retirement. A mechanical engineer by trade, Ed started his career at Jade Corporation in Huntingdon Valley, PA, but with his desire to create a family legacy and fueled by his entrepreneurial spirit - EMP was born. His dream was to have his entire family work together, and for several years he lived that dream. Even after retirement, Ed’s drive and passion guided him as he began to design and build the Argentine Grills (Parrillas) that he remembered from his youth growing up in Argentina, and with this, his second company, Gaucho Grills, was born.
Ed was passionate about many things in life, especially his dedication to Christianity. He was a long-time member of Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia and shared the Gospel on many mission trips with the church; he was also an endless volunteer performing community outreaches for at-risk, inner-city youth through The Rock Ministries in Kensington, and incarcerated individuals through the Prison Ministry of Philadelphia. Ed was so touched by the work done, that he has continued to be a faithful supporter of orphanages, both in Nepal and Argentina.
In his younger years, Ed was quite the athlete and involved in many local clubs in Argentina. As an adult, he was a steadfast fan of all Philadelphia sports teams and boxing.
Ed and his wife Gabriella loved to travel and have traveled extensively over the years; he was also an avid boater and fisherman, a fondness which continues to live on through his children and grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia, 13500 Philmont Avenue, Philadelphia, PA, 19116, on Monday, December 18, 2023. Calling hours will be 10:30am-11am, with a memorial service immediately following, from 11am -12 noon.

Ed was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.
