Helen May (Wilson) Hood, age 91, went home to be with her Savior and Lord, joining her precious husband, Samuel Alexander Hood, early Friday morning, March 23, 2018. She died peacefully in her sleep in her home of over 60 years in Warminster, PA.
Helen was born on July 25,1926, graduated from Girls High School in 1944, and married Samuel Alexander Hood on November 27, 1948. They were married for almost 58 years before the Lord called him home in June of 2006. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she worked for several years as a bookkeeper, an assistant librarian, and invested countless hours volunteering her time in the local elementary school. She also built a business, working with Waddell & Reed as a Divisional Manager. She attended Sandy Cove Ministries in North East, Maryland, where she and the family vacationed and served in various capacities for over 40 years.
She is survived by her son Samuel (Holly), her daughter Carole (David), her grandchildren, Samuel David (Melissa), Jonathan, Stephanie (Walter), David (Sara) and Amanda, her great-grandchildren Samuel Bryant, Bailey, Kendra, Kaiya, Trey (Walter R. Strickland III), Caleb, Cillian, and David Adrian Fox III. She was preceded by her parents, George and Wilhelmina Wilson, her brother George Wilson Jr, affectionately known as “Budd”, her sister, Elizabeth who died when she was 3, and great-granddaughter, baby Hope, who she is getting to meet for the first time in heaven.
Services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, March 31st at Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home in Southampton, PA. Visitation will be held from 9 am-10am, Services at 10 am, followed by internment at Forest Hills Cemetery, 25 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA.
