Nana, few souls are as gentle as yours- its so incredibly disarming that the ONLY way to feel when among your presence is welcomed and loved beyond measure- No doubt, there are countless others who can attest to this, and not just from what i had the privilege of witnessing/experiencing first-hand. That particular quality of your character was steadfast and it shows in your consideration year after year just in the simple gesture of sending out a birthday card- diligently! I'll miss those....I hope to have reciprocated even a fraction of the warmth you showed me, Thank you for everything you've shown me  in the past, and for all you've given me to cherish as heartfelt memories today and forevermore into the future.

Whenever we visited with Mom I always felt at home. I was treated as part of the family and knew that I was loved. She made me feel like I was one of her boys.  We had many silly times around the table where we shared much laughter. As they flood my mind they are rich memories that I'll forever cherish. 

Mom and I had a lot of fun when I visited her in NC. We went on many outings with The Redt Hatters including the theater, dancing, and a festival at a farm with homemade ice cream among others.  

On our own, Mom & I explored Edenton; the Albemarle Museum; many retail establishments and eateries.  In the Fall, the Harvest festival Trunk or Treat at Woodland UM Church was great fun year after year.  We also went to many Ruritans' pancake breakfasts. The community in Hertford NC was her home.  For me, it became home away from home. I will miss her and our many adventures.
