

John A. Peters died on Wednesday July 2, 2014 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 89 years of age. He was the son of the late John and Mary Neidert Peters. He had been a Churchville resident for the past 57 years and had previously lived in the Burholme section of Philadelphia.
Mr. Peters was a retired truck driver. He was an employee of Eastern Express in Philadelphia from 1960 to 1977 and Ryerson Steel in Philadelphia from 1978 to his retirement in 1988. He had previously operated John Peters Trucking.
John was a Navy veteran of WW II. He served on LST 317 during the 3rd wave on D Day, at Omaha Beach. He also participated in landing in the North Africa and Sicily Campaigns.
He was a former member of the Davisville Church. John was an avid football fan and enjoyed doing stone masonry and concrete work.
John was the beloved husband of Nerina D’Agostine Peters for 65 years. He was the devoted father of John M. Peters of Milford Square, Joel M. Peters (Lynne) of Holland and the late Eric J. Peters. He was the loving grandfather of Nathaniel J. and Jeremy E. Peters. He is also survived by his sister Ethel Castor of Lansdale.
Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial service 12 Noon on Saturday, July 12th at the Davisville Church, Street Road, Southampton, PA 18966. His inurnment will follow at the Davisville Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until the time of service.
