Norma M Pianka

Norma was the beloved husband of Stanley. They were married for almost 40 years before he died in 1983. She was the loving mother of Janice Scott (and Richard) of Buckingham, Pennsylvania, Jeri Ismert (and George) of Westminster, Colorado and Joanne Pianka of Fairfax, California.

She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Michael and Erik Ismert, Dana and Evan Scott, and by her great grandsons Ian and Elliot Ismert, as well as by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her sister Jean Berkelbach.

Norma was a retired Philadelphia high school teacher. She taught Social Studies and English at Olney and Frankford High Schools. She was very involved in Girl Scouts in Philadelphia’s Bridesburg neighborhood. She enjoyed square dancing, reading fiction, and crossword puzzles and word games. She especially loved spending time with her family and was a joy to all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 2 o’clock pm at Southampton Estates, 238 Street Road, Southampton, PA. Friends may call on the family there from 1:30 pm until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made in Norma’s name to ACTS Southampton Estates Samaritan Fund at 238 Street Road, Southampton, PA 18966.
