
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Aloysius J. and Ionia G. (Garnett) McMahon. Dick was a resident of Feasterville for 61 years.
Dick met the love of his, Ruth C. Rummler, on a blind date in June, 1942 and they were married in June, 1946, after he returned from a tour with the Merchant Marine during World War II. They were married for almost 66 years, and were an inspiration and a model to all who knew them.
Mr. McMahon was a longtime employee of Eaton Yale and Town in Philadelphia. After retiring from Eaton, he worked at Cherry Steel in Langhorne. He enjoyed golf and played the game well into his eighties.
Dick was a dedicated member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Feasterville. He served the Church as the Sunday School Superintendent and as a member of the Church Counsel. He was active with AID for Friends at the Church, delivering frozen meals for homebound people in the region.
He is survived by his two sons, R. Bruce McMahon, Jr., and his wife, Lorraine, of Doylestown, PA, and Mark McMahon and his wife, Lori, of Elburn, Illinois; three grandchildren, Erin Loch and her husband, Christian, of Berwyn, PA, Brett McMahon and his wife, Whitney of New York, NY, and Kevin McMahon of Warrenville, IL; and three great-grandchildren, Amelia, Veronica and Micah Loch.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 65 East Street Road, Feasterville, PA 19053.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dick’s name to St. Stephen’s or in his memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
