Barbara Anne Rittinger

Barbara was born on September 20, 1941 to the late Roger Owens and Susan Wakeham in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

Barbara worked for many years in different libraries in both public and private. She was a circulation desk supervisor at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL. She also worked at Florida Technological University in Orlando, FL. Barbara finished her career as a Acquisition Specialist in Arlington County Public Library in Virginia. She enjoyed reading and listening to audiobooks and was a graduate of George Washington University in Washington D.C. and also attended Catholic University. Mrs. Rittinger was an active member of the American Library Association as well as the Virginia Library Association having attended their annual conferences.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first cousins, Mimi Mollahan; and a sister, Joan Broderick.

Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of forty-nine years, Lawrence Rittinger of Southport.

Services will be held at a later date.
