Brian was born on December 5, 1969 son of Herb and Margaret Hakey. Brian served 37 years in the US Army. Brian loved coffee, he enjoyed roasting his own beans, making his own blends. Brian was a lover of trains both large and small.He was a locomotive engineer for the army and civilian life. When he wasn't working he volunteered as a presenter for Operation lifesaver, a railroad education program. He also enjoyed working on his train layout. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Tina Hakey; two children, Joshua Hakey and Anna Hakey; and a brother, Andrew Hakey.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Boiling Spring Lakes.
