Cindy Smith

Cindy was born February 6, 1960 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, daughter of the late Billy Carper and Rebecca Triplett Carper. She worked as an electrical superintendent at Brunswick Nuclear Plant until her retirement. Cindy loved her children and grandchildren fiercely and enjoyed spending time with them but also treasured her quiet time at home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Franklin Smith and sons, Shaun Holley and Shane Smith.

Survivors include her children, Michelle Williams and husband Duff of Galivants Ferry, South Carolina and Gaberail Smith and wife Michelle of Loris; nine grandchildren, Kaylyn, Deklan, Aniston, Gage, Kiersten, Garrison, Beth, Samantha, and Ashley; one great grandson, Lynyrd Huffman; one brother, David Carper and wife Stacey; two sisters, Karen Hastings and husband Chuck, and Billie McCall and husband Lynn; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 31, 2025 at one o’clock in the afternoon at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service. Entombment will follow in Cape Fear Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
