Mrs. Sloop was born and raised in Kannapolis, NC. She was the daughter of Rommie Mills and Rosalie Newsome Mills. She was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, and enjoyed painting, crafting, and reading.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Dale Sloop; two daughters Shellena McCall and husband Clyde of Fredericksburg, VA, and Santresa Culpepper of Southport; six grandchildren, Johnathan McCall, Joshua McCall, Katherine McCall, Cody Holland, Dale, Holland, and Dakota Culpepper; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sloop was preceded in death by a sister Mary Mahathey.
The funeral service will be at 2:30pm on Tuesday, July 17th at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church. The family will have visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday evening at the funeral home. A graveside committal service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday at Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery in Concord, NC.
