

David R. "Dave" Bozard also known to his adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren as POP POP age 74, of Southport, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 after a very courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Mr. Bozard was born June 25, 1949, in Newton, NJ, son of the late Donald and Carol Bozard. Dave graduated Shore Regional high school in 1968 where he holds the #3 spot for scoring over 1000 points in basketball #50! Dave and his wife Barbara called Monmouth Beach home for over 50 years! Dave enjoyed vacationing on Hilton Head island with his wife their last trip in 2019 with granddaughter Nikki, Tom and their great grandchildren is one they will cherish forever. Dave and his wife also loved traveling to Tennessee every chance they could get! Dave lived a very active life If he wasn’t playing golf he was watching golf, he enjoyed countless weekends on the golf course with his brother Dennis. He also enjoyed long bike rides along the beach he rode many miles from Monmouth beach to spring lake! Dave loved the holidays simply because that meant it was time to lay on the living room floor with his grandkids and show them his amazing LGB train collection that he set up around the Christmas tree every year for them to enjoy.
Dave was the proud owner of an Exxon gas and service station in Aberdeen for over 18 years. After he retired and in between tee times he worked for his lifelong friend Don Beaty at DLB associates before retiring for good and moving to Southport SC in 2014 where him and his wife built their dream home in Saint James Plantation.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara Bozard; a son, Harry Haller; a brother, Dennis Bozard and wife Debbie; a sister, Linda Leslie and husband Jim, and brother John Bozard; two loved granddaughters, Nicole “ Nikki “ Oakley and husband Tom Oakley, Kayla Dellaterza and husband Jason Dellaterza; four treasured great-grandchildren, Gemma, Ruby & Major Oakley & Jaxson Dellaterza; beloved son-in-law, Vincent Mandaro; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Mandaro; and a grandson he missed every single day Stephen Mandaro.
In lieu of flowers and donations please do what Pop is now doing in heaven, go play a round of golf, shoot some hoops, or put your baseball hat on backwards and take a long bike ride by the beach.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
